I was not required to write a positive review. This is a very fast read, a romance that would make a great movie.ĭisclosure of Material Connection: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author via KBS Consultant. I cheered for Becca as she overcame one obstacle after another to show the townspeople that she is worthy of their trust and that she truly deserves a place among them. The back and forth between the two is humorous at times and very witty. When she steps into the role of taking care of Edwin, she proves her mettle as a caretaker for the elderly, but she is challenged by Edwin’s son Flynn who wants to check into her background because he doesn’t quite trust her. She arrives in Harmony Valley with the goal of proving that she is an excellent caregiver and not a conniving thief as some would like to portray her. I look forward to seeing the town of 80 citizens (most of which are over the age of 65) grow. I also liked how Melinda Curtis is going to write more romances set in Harmony Valley. I would recommend it to fans of clean/sweet romances. She was sweet, loving, and was always trying to help others, even when her attempts were misguided. Becca was just a character that became a part of the family. The story was touching (slightly sad as people keep dying in Becca's line of work) yet sweet and clever. This just might be the summer to break all of the rules though!
